I know I have been MIA for a bit, my apologies to my readers. I recently just came back from vacation a week ago from New Orleans. My sister and I have been meaning to cross this destination off of our bucket list for quite sometime now. Memorial Day weekend seemed like the perfect time to check it out… so we did.
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do as a past time. I am always on the go and I love exploring new cultures & destinations. I guess that is the Sagittarius in me LOL.What I loved most about New Orleans was the southern hospitality of the people there. It made the vacation so much more enjoyable. Top things to remember if you ever visit New Orleans.
First, try to NOLA cuisine 🙂 my summer diet went out the window once I arrived here. I ate such good food from breakfast to dessert. Probably gained 5 pounds but it was so worth it. LOL!

My next must thing to do while in NOLA is of course visit the French Quarter and Bourbon Street section of the city. This area is always live and full of entertainment to see whether it is day or night.
Of course I had to check out the nightlife scene. Way more chill than NYC! I rather be overdressed than under dressed. That is always my motto. However, during the day my tip is to wear comfy shoes and loose breathable clothing because it gets quite hot. An example of a good outfit choice would be the polka dot dress in this post.

Also make sure you ride streetcar at least once. Make sure you bring a fan with you because there is no AC & it gets pretty crowded & hot.

Take a trip to the Garden District of the city as well because you will see the beautiful southern homes and also university campuses along the way. The Zoo & park are in this area as well.

Two activities I feel are a must see are the Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium & the Cajun Swap Tour. The butterfly garden was my favorite… I could of stayed there all day! Cajun Tour was awesome because I could hold a baby gator. ( You can see those pics on my Instagram also)

Before the tour with the gators:)

This was taken in the alleyway at the famous House of Blues.

So the list recap eat well, sight see the French Quarter, visit the butterfly garden & take a gator tour, also take a trip to garden district & use the streetcar to explore the city. There you have it, hopefully this short list helps anyone who plans on visiting NOLA in the near future. Until next vacay.
