Fashion should always be fun especially in the workforce. As women we have way more options in clothing compared to men. Being a girl is awesome sometimes because we can wear pants, skirts, dresses, and suits! I have been lucky enough to work for companies where I was able to express my love for clothing freely. This means no strict dress code. As I have said before in a previous post I try to steer clear of all black when it comes to my clothes. I love pops of color in my ensembles because I feel it makes me stand out in a crowd.
This Strictly Business Chic look I came up with because I wanted something that can easily transition from day to night. If you ever seen the movie Strictly Business the fashion for work was very versatile & chic. Halle Berry’s style was my fav in that movie by the way. However, my spin on the look is a bit more toned down than the 90’s version.
Living in NYC you always want to be ready for the unexpected. Maybe a surprise date night or happy hour with friends. Whatever the case you should always look your best & be comfortable in your clothes. So lets get to the details of my outfit. My skirt is from Ideel.com (formally ideeli) it is an electric blue color with middle zipper detail that actually works. If I choose to be daring I can adjust the zipper to be higher or completely closed. As you can see I just left a little bit of the zipper up because it is actually easier to walk in compared to when it is closed. The black lace top is from Forever 21 I felt this added a feminine touch. My handbag of choice is my Chanel GST. Last but not least my shoes are the classic black patent Louboutin pumps to complete the look.
