I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. I know I did because it was full of glamour, fashion, & style. If you follow my instagram @ashleykiyana you can see that this weekend was a whirlwind of Fashion events here in NYC. New York Fashion Week is not only about the runways & designers. It is about the amazing free events, parties, & giveaways. Imagine brushing elbows with your favorite socialites & celebs. Witnessing amazing street style from people just like you & me. Catching a glimpse on what will be trendy six months before everyone else. I did all the above this weekend LOL! In true Mercedes Benz Fashion I barely got any sleep. (haha) However, it was all worth it to be in the midst of the fashion capital’s biggest week ever…& it still continues until Thursday. Here is a recap of my fashion week so far. Enjoy!
On saturday I went to the Barbie & CDFA Fashion lounge which was so cute & very nostalgic of my childhood. The event was pretty in pink as expected with Barbie dolls & flowers all over. Wifi & charging stations were included which are must for Fashion Week. The venue also supplied refreshing drinks as well. Since it was about 90 degrees I wore a simple romper which with tank underneath and sandals.
On sunday I went to ESSENCE Street Style Block Party in Brooklyn before attending a few shows at Lincoln Center. I didn’t get to stay as long as I would of have liked, however while I was there I witnessed some of the best street fashion I have seen so far during fashion week. The event had great vendors, musical performances, and also hair and makeup stations. Here is my outfit of the day I put together for the festivities. This Zara dress I actually scored on saturday for just $10 dollars. I loved the color ( which is an orange yellow), the back cutouts, & how it flares out in the front. A total steal that I could not pass up lol. The Betsey Johnson bag is actually the first designer bag I ever purchased. I love how the leather has gotten even softer over the years and the gold studs give it a youthful feel. Lastly, my BCBG peep toe boots I have had for five years & they still look like new. The gold heel compliments the gold studs on my bag. Hope you enjoyed the look.
